Technology Education Goals
The Technology Education Department is dedicated to teaching students a safety first and hands-on approach to experiential learning.
In our junior classes, the students start learning the basic knowledge and skills that will be built upon in senior courses. Grade 8/9 students will be introduced to the safe use of hand tools and machines, and will demonstrate their learning by creating and building tangible projects that they can take pride in bringing home, giving them a sense of accomplishment.
In senior years, the courses become even more specific where students may chose a technology of specific interest to them. These skills may lead to a career in Trades or the Technology sector. However; these skills may also just help students better understand the design, engineer, and build process that is crucial in the Manufacturing Sector. In both cases, these coures and skills better equip students to adapt into the real world of working. Please refer to the PMSS Course Selection Handbook for further information, or to view all the career courses offered in the district, please refer to the SD42 website.
